Joyce Arlene (Putskey) Vriezen

Joyce A. Vriezen , age 81, of Wautoma, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, August 2, 2017 at Preston Place in Redgranite after a battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born June 1, 1936 in the Town Of Oasis, the daughter of Harley and Lillian (Wrasse) Putskey.  On October 27, 1956 she married Ronald J. Ebert and to this marriage came three sons, Greg A. Ebert, Dean R. Ebert and Kevin R. Ebert.  She later married Marvin D. Vriezen on May 3, 1985 in Las Vegas.

Joyce was baptized in the Grace Lutheran Church in the town of Deerfield, Hancock and later confirmed in Peace Lutheran Church, Wautoma.  Joyce was a 1954 graduate of Wautoma High School.  She later was employed as administrative secretary at Wautoma High School for 20 years retiring in 1999.  She was also the Deerfield Town Clerk for 25 years and also worked as a secretary –Bookkeeper for Kieckhefer Boxes, Inc. of Wild Rose from 1970-1980.  Joyce had many passions and talents that impacted many people around her. Her greatest passion was her family and loyalty to friends whom she kept for life.

Joyce is survived by her husband Marvin D. Vriezen, Wautoma; her three sons, Greg A. Ebert, Dean R. (Cynthia) Ebert and Kevin R. (Dawn) Ebert; her 6 grandchildren, Michael (Rosa) Ebert, Jodi (Liam) Doyle, Angela Ebert, Jamie (Tim) Minnema, Sean Geraghty, and Bridget Geraghty; Her great grandchildren, Kelan Doyle, Andrew Ebert, Samantha and Avaya Minnema; Her Canine companion Mitzy; her step grandchildren, Kyle (Margaret Scott) Baldukas and Brady Baldukas; her step great grandson, Jason Baldukas; her stepchildren, James L. (Karla) Vriezen, Robert (Lauren) Vriezen, David (LuAnn) Vriezen and their son, Michael; Jean (Andy) St. Clair and their children, Megan and Eric; Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 7, 2016 at 12:00 noon in the Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield with the Rev. Dale W.
